Week 3 of 52

Week 3 passed very quickly with all letters sent and a few letting me know. We also had 2 birthday cards this last week. At least I think they were last week, days are starting to blend all into one now that we are heading into the silly season.
Once again yes I am late with my blogpost but I am nothing if not consistent.
It’s been nice to find out that I do have more followers than I thought as well.
Have been sick the last few days and the brain was being less than responsive.
I did however manage to capture some amazing shots of the storms that hit south east Queensland this last weekend. Will share my favs quickly since I am currently struggling to stay awake!

Until next week, unless I get the urge to come back early 🙂 oh I am very much due to do an easy Xmas post. Someone remind me to get onto that 🙂

Week 2 of 52

Yes I know I am a day late with last weeks blog post. Yes I have been told but I guess my one and only blog fan 🙂 (thanks Janelle who was also the 1st of my 365)

This last week went by in a blur.
I also have a sick feeling that the letter box in our area hasn’t been checked which could be why some people may not have received their mail yet. This will be checked on with Aus Post tomorrow though.

Some big news on the letter writing front is that with a lot of help of many people I now have 97 people signed up to receive mail from me! Yes that’s right only 3 people off the 100 mark! Ever so slightly excited about that.

Of the 11 (not counting today yet) letters that have been sent I know that 3 have made it to their destination 🙂

I dont have a lot of mail photos this week as well there are only so many ways you can take a photo of letters without showing names or addresses.

So what else has been happening this week?
I climbed the Story Bridge here in Brisbane! Am still on a high about that as I didn’t think I would be able to let alone survive it. Now can not wait to do it again.
Will share a photo of this once they have been emailed through to me.

Today in my letter box I had my first Christmas card which in itself was exciting but it also contained a wonderful handwritten letter from my first mail recipient which made me both laugh and cry. It’s now hanging up on my bird photo hanger which I should really share with everyone at some point. Maybe next weeks blog 🙂

Right now its time for me to finish off todays letter and get some sleep.
Thanks to those who do read and enjoy my ramble of a blog.

Week 1 of 52

I decided that I will post at least every Sunday with some photos of the previous weeks mail and keep everyone updated on whats going on.
So as I lay here shivering in bed here are the last 3 days worth of mail (not including today because technically Sunday is the start of a new week)

Tonight as I write this there are now 85 people signed up to receive mail from me!
That’s just insane right?
I wasnt expecting to get so many people so quickly and at best hoped for 30 to start me off but having almost 3 months worth of names already gives me the motivation to do this 🙂

There are people from all over Australia who have signed up, 1 from England and 1 from the US but am more than happy to have more people from OS join in. Also have a few kidlets to write to as well as someones husband which well I wasnt expecting men to sign up (I don’t know why not but it just never occurred to me)

Of the first 3 people, 1 was someone I know, 1 was a kidlet and the 3rd signed up as a friend of a friend so I didn’t know her. With a tiny bit of Facebook hunting (I promise I am not stalking people) I managed to see who she was and hopefully write something nice to her.

Now its past my bed time so until next week…

365 Mail

I had a random idea on the way to work this morning.
Since the pen pal trial seemed to fail miserably I thought I could do this without relying on others.
Who doesn’t like getting surprise mail that isn’t a dodgy bill or junk mail.
Something small and hand written that you don’t have to reply to but let’s you know that at that moment in time someone was thinking of just you.
I have so many note cards and bits of pretty paper just going to waste in my craft room that should really be used and do what they were made to.

So what I am going to do is send/write a note or small letter to a different person for 365 days.
This means I need 365 people to write to.
Currently on the list I have about 15 so not at all enough.
I am happy to send anywhere in the world so anyone is able to send me through their details.

As I have said I am not needing any reply (other than a MSG to say you have received it)

I do need help to share this around though because I would like to have at least a months worth of people to start with.
Have just set up an email address to let people add themselves to the list.

You can contact me at 365daysmail@gmail.com

Fingers crossed I can bring some smiles to others.

Life still chugging along

Yesterday has been the start of a big change for The Husband.
He has never felt like he could get anywhere in his work life and just settled for being a salesman (not that there is anything wrong with that at all) so kept plodding along in the hope that at one point he may end up a manager at the store he was at but after 4ish years he was still doing what he was doing as well as doing the crazy drive into the city daily until I got my licence and then he was getting the train.
It meant we had no time together since he was working 3 weekends out of the month and our days were crazy long.
For some time now I have been gently pushing him to start looking for something else or at least see what else was around.
After any many arguments, rejection letters, no responses at all and only a few interviews a small bank decided to give him a go.
To say I am proud of him is an understatement (even though he has been an arse due to the stress of starting a new job for the first time in 4 years)

So we may still have long days and while we live where we do that’s always going to happen but now he will only be working every second Saturday morning and no Sundays or Thursday nights!!!!! So excited about the no Thursday nights!!!

Just realised we will be home in DAYLIGHT all through spring summer and autumn!

I really need to work out how to get some pictures on here when using my iPad to make the posts look pretty at least 🙂

Winter – The Season Of Change

Well haven’t things been crazy in the WB household!
Actually I am sure that I say that every time that I make a new post after some time away…
So what as been going on?
Well for starters I am writing this on my new iPad on a train to work in the city. Yes I have a new job!
Am half way through week 2 now and am really liking it 🙂
The travel each day isn’t that bad either as it gives me some me time to read and also now catch up on my blogging.
Have to say after only a short time there ave been some strange sites on my trips to and from work but that’s for another post 🙂
So what else has been going on?
Well…. The Husband has a new job as well! He starts Monday next week and I am so very proud of him as he will be working in a bank. Yes my husband the wanker I mean banker lol
So that’s our big news events.
Oh the chickens have now all started laying YAY!

Am a bit squished on the train now so thats it for today’s post.

Back On The Wagon.

Well readers its been a crazy week.
My poor computer has been reformatted and seems to be running ok so fingers crossed things are fixed now.
In some brief point forms I will run through the week that was…

* Started week 3 of the cold/flu/chest/throat/sinus infection that wouldn’t go away. Almost over it now thankfully.
* Was picked to take part in 612ABC radios Swapper program. I am a part of the Trim Tims (Tim Cox from the drive program) along with 12 other people. We are all trying to lose the most amount of cm’s from our waists over 12 weeks but I will go into this tomorrow night.
* I actually worked out Twitter! Yes after having an account for what seems like forever I am finally using it and getting it. Oh I am ElizabethWB if you are interested.
* Decided to go vegetarian for (at least) a week. Have been getting a lot of great information from some wonderful ladies and while I am not sure I could ever completely stop eating animal products we will certainly be cutting down and being very selective about what we eat (The Husband is more than happy with this since before me he was a vegetarian)
* I have started a daily Mount Mee photo posting. I am looking at it as a way of sharing the different views, weather, beauty and just life on the mountain. Currently its only on instagram and twitter but may possibly move it to either here or facebook depending on if people are interested.
* The chickens (well one of them) are laying daily!
* I attended the dawn service on ANZAC day on Wednesday. As always it was a moving morning, cold and beautiful.

In other news… I think I need a change, a move, something. I just dont know what.
Am feeling not at ease and not sure why. Well I lie, I know why but I dont know how to fix or change it.

So until tomorrow night….

Taken 25/04/12 Mount Mee ANZAC Day dawn service.

Unplanned break

Well blog readers… Tooshy has been slowly dying and last night packed it in. While in safe mode I was thankfully able to back up all of my photos and other important info.
It was a fun morning as well trying to sort out the warranty which was stuffed up when purchased so there will be even more of a delay.
So right now I have to wait 3 days for the warranty people to fix the paperwork problem and then who knows how long it will take to have my computer fixed. If I didn’t have the warranty I would going straight out and getting a Mac.
Fingers crossed tomorrow the Officeworks manager will have some good news for me.
So until then or until I have the time and effort to do a proper phone post that’s it from me.

Miss my blog (and my computer) already.

One of those weeks…

You know those weeks when nothing really goes right?

I started the week with back pain to rival any I have had before. Thankfully I have found a wonderful person on the mountain who did a great massage for me this alleviated slightly.

Last Saturday I was attacked by sandflies… thought I got away without having any bites (which was an insane thought since I was covered in the stupid things) wake up on Tuesday morning COVERED in bites! Then I don’t just get little itchy bites but nice big allergy things which saw me covered in creams and cold tea (don’t ask but it works)

Friday just gone saw me come down with a lovely throat infection. Thankfully I already was seeing my doctor for a lady visit (which actually everyone when did you last have your pap smear?) because I wouldn’t have been able to get in to see her otherwise. So I got to leave there with antibiotics and low self-esteem after doctors terrible bedside manner.

Then today… for the first time in ages I was going to brave the laundry under the house and put on a load etc (normally The Husband does this) so 5 steps from the bottom I go for a massive slide and end up in a scream pile on the ground. Now I can’t stay as a screaming pile on the ground because well that’s the same area where we have red belly black snakes live! So I have to try and drag my screaming pile of self into the laundry where I continue screaming (while being watched with shock looks by my cats)
After all that though the clothes did go into the wash and I managed to drag my sorry arse back up the front stairs.

Oh and lets not forget the 2 bouts of gastro I had in a week and a half before this last week (that was so so much fun!)

You know what though… it could have been worse.
Yes I am laying here in a great deal of pain from head to toe (must take some more tablets soon) but I am laying here and alive.
I may have had a crappy few weeks but well they are over and I have made it through.

I thought the most appropriate photos I have for this post is my Thistle shot. Something that can cause much pain is still a good thing.

Still have so many things to catch people up on from my break but they will have to wait for another time.
